Delivery approach
Every engagement is scoped in writing: the questions to answer, the deliverables, who is responsible for what, how the work will be reviewed and what acceptance looks like. Work is shown as it progresses rather than revealed at the end.
Specialists are brought in for the parts of an engagement that need them, and named in the proposal. You always know who is accountable for the result and who is doing the work.
Standards we hold ourselves to
- Plain language in every deliverable
- Assumptions and evidence separated from opinion
- Review proportionate to the decision at stake
- Information handling designed before tools are chosen
- Documentation your team can run without us
- No claims we cannot support
Leadership
Devontae Williams, founder. Devontae founded Textstone Labs after a career in construction, the military and strategy consulting. For the past several years he has done strategy consulting with a global professional services firm: conversion-readiness coordination for a financial-services acquisition, program management support for a federal cybersecurity program office, and process modeling with cross-functional teams using BPMN. Before consulting, he managed preconstruction and estimating for a construction firm. Before that, he served thirteen years in the U.S. Army in operational and engineering leadership roles.
He is completing an MBA and has led hands-on AI sessions for his MBA cohort. He also builds the software described below, so the technology advice comes from someone who has to make it work in practice.
Consulting experience described here is individual professional experience. It is not a claim of Textstone Labs past performance, and no client is identified.
What we build
Building and operating our own tools is where our practical knowledge of integration, monitoring and handover comes from. It also keeps our technology advice honest about cost and effort.
